Myrtle Creek Garden Club

The Myrtle Creek Garden Club was first organized in the late 1940’s and has been participating in community events ever since. The Garden Club helped landscape the front of the Library and have taken care of the Maggie Steinbaugh Memorial Park. We landscaped the front of theGarden Club 2 - Copy Pioneer Cemetery and tended the rose garden at the Veteran’s Memorial at Millsite Park. We donate yearly to the Lion’s Club for the hanging baskets that adorn the town during the summer months and contribute funds to pay for watering the baskets. The Garden Club has planted thousands of daffodils along the roadside as you enter Myrtle Creek from the bridge and continue to plant hundreds more each year. We have also planted bulbs at the entrance of Evergreen Park.

We create and enter a garden display for the Douglas County Fair, work on Spirit Day in the city of Myrtle Creek and contribute to the local Clothe-a-Child campaign. The Garden Club has also helped support other organizations in beautification projects.
Our operating funds are derived from our annual Plant Sale held in May and our annual Yard Sale held each October. We have also received monetary awards from our exhibit at the Douglas County Fair.

The Myrtle Creek Garden Club meets monthly on the first Thursday of each month at 1 pm, usually at the Tri-City Presbyterian Church on Meadow Lane. We occasionally have guest speakers, go on special field trips, and enjoy a potluck now and then. There are no membership dues and we welcome anyone who would like to join us – no ‘green thumb’ required!Garden Club 1
