Bandshell springriver tempParks and Recreation Department is responsible for the overall administration and coordination of city recreational programs, activities, and special events. Park system planning, design, development and maintenance are also a responsibility of this department. The department is committed to the planning, development and operation of the Park and Recreation system to meet community needs within the bounds of resource availability.  Park planning and policy direction is provided in conjunction with the Park Commission.

Myrtle Creek Parks and Recreation Department enriches the quality of life for our citizens and visitors alike by providing a diverse package of recreation and park opportunities.

The way we utilize our leisure time directly affects our quality of life. The City of Myrtle Creek has excellent parks and recreation programs to enhance the overall value of life in our City.  We believe our programs help to make Myrtle Creek a great place to Live, Work, Raise a Family, and PLAY!

Park Information

The City of Myrtle Creek has 4 beautiful parks that cover 28 acres. 

The City's parks offer a wide range of facilities and activities.  The Myrtle Creek park system includes such recreational activities as the band shell, swimming pool, skatepark, tennis courts, basketball court and other recreational sites.

A number of community events each year are held in our park system which provides safe places for children and families to recreate. City employees and volunteers take great pride to enrich the lives of others through our quality parks and programs.  There is always something to see and do in a park or recreation facility each and every day.

Reservations for park facilities are taken on a first-come, first-serve basis. 

A fee is charged for reserving facilities.  For information on reservations, contact City Hall at 541-863-3171.

Rules for all parks:

Park hours are Dawn to Dusk.

Alcoholic beverages are strictly prohibited unless approved by the City in advance of the event.

Dogs must be leashed and owners are required to clean up after their pets.

Non-Smoking areas as designated by Ordinance No. 828:
